First stage of the carbonized briquettes before use for bio- fuel
Second stage of the bio-fuel briquettes. They have been mixed with stones and soil. Now drying in the sun.
Non-carbonized briquettes made out of saw dust. These are great for fuel in large in institutions like schools

WASTE MANAGEMENT

Waste Management is an urgent priority in today's world.

At Mercy Projects Foundation (MPF) we have included Waste Management in our field work of Sensitization. We do educate the grass-root population on the need to separate waste. We have termed it Responsible Citizenship.

We encourage people to Reuse, Recycle and Recover waste.

We educate them on the reasons why we all need to be responsible citizens when it comes to the issue of waste management. It is not the job of the government or someone else out there. Some reasons:

  • Illegal dumping causes Floods
  • Illegal dumping can lead to eruption of wild fires like in the case of tires or industrial chemicals
  • Illegal dumping can affect agriculture through spreading of weeds and pests
  • Illegal dumping can lead to the extinction and death of some species if they consume poisonous material.
  • Illegal dumping can lead to the spread of rodents in households
  • Illegal dumping can affect soils and water resources near by
  • Illegal dumping can strain people's respiratory systems
  • Lack of diligent waste management can lead to unnecessary creation of landfills
  • Lack of diligent waste management can lead to unclean/unhealthy environment of those living near landfills
  • Lack of diligent waste management can lead to fatal calamities of human life and ecosystem destruction.
